Absolutely! We have found that listings which feature a video sell 35% faster than listings with no video on them.
We strongly recommend taking a couple of short videos of your golf cart. Shooting a walkaround of the golf cart and a video of it driving (or an engine start-up, if gas) – gives buyers confidence in their negotiations with you!
If using your cell phone to take your video, we suggest holding it horizontally (sideways) in landscape-orientation, which shows more detail on our site than up-and-down filming! You can then simply upload the video to YouTube or Vimeo and add the link to your listing.
Buyers contact you directly on our website through the message form located on your classified listing. Once a potential buyer has made contact with you, you can answer questions the potential buyer may have regarding your cart, negotiate on price, exchange phone numbers and/or email addresses, and arrange a time to show the potential buyer your Golf Cart.
Any transaction for the purchase of your golf cart is completed between the buyer and the seller (you). Golf Cart Sellers is a marketplace that connects buyers and sellers to each other – we do not facilitate transactions for golf cart purchases.
We always recommend creating and using a Bill of Sale when purchasing (or selling) a golf cart. This protects both you and the buyer in the event that anything unscrupulous happens in the transaction. The Bill of Sale should describe the Make/Model/VIN of the golf cart being sold, the purchase price, and the terms of the transaction (i.e. date(s), any additional items that come with the cart, if the purchase is “as-is”, etc.). Both the buyer and seller should sign and date the Bill of Sale and each should keep a copy for their records.
We also recommend the buyer and the seller take a picture or make a photocopy of each other’s Driver’s License or State ID to keep on file with the Bill of Sale.
Your state’s DMV website may have vehicle Bill of Sale templates that can be applied/used for golf cart sale transfers. Additionally, we recommend a simple and free service such as https://eforms.com/bill-of-sale/.
Once a golf cart listing is marked as “sold” in your seller dashboard, the listing is considered “completed” and it disappears forever immediately, so that you no longer receive inquiries and messages regarding your sold cart.
Marking a listing as sold is a great accomplishment! But it is imperative that you wait until you have received final monies from your buyer and ensure your buyer actually takes delivery of your golf cart before you mark your listing as “sold”. Once a listing is marked sold, it cannot be reactivated and you will need to entirely re-list your cart if your buyer does not follow through.
